The Shah Mosque, Isfahan

The Shah Mosque Abbasi Mosque is a mosque in Isfahan, Iran, standing in south side of Naghshe Jahan Square. It was built during the Safavid dynasty, ordered by Abbas I of Persia. It is regarded as one of the masterpieces of Persian architecture in the Islamic era. The Royal Mosque is registered, along with the Naghshe Jahan Square, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its construction began in 1611, and its splendor is mainly due to the beauty of its seven-color mosaic tiles and calligraphic inscriptions.

Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Beijing

The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel more often colloquially referred to as Xizhimen Church is a Roman Catholic Church located on the southern side at No. 130 of Xizhimen Neidajie in Beijing. It is commonly referred to as Xitang (the West Church) to the locals. The church at Xizhimen was the last among the four historic Catholic churches in Beijing. The West Church was first built in 1723 during the Qing dynasty by the Italian Lazarist missionary Teodorico Pedrini: it was the first non-Jesuit church in Beijing.
