Simple Model

My project is about a church which is a historical monument, located in France and more particularly in the town of Gourin (Brittany). The building, which measures 39 by 16 meters, was built in 1500 on the exact site of another smaller church whose four large pillars in the middle as well as the part including the central ogival door have been preserved. The original bell tower rested on the four octagonal pillars, larger in diameter than the others, which form the center of the church. It collapsed in 1745 and was rebuilt, in its present location, in the style typical of the Black Mountains region (middle east of Britanny). It is a porch tower with a lantern. The flamboyant Gothic style of the church is noticeable in the mullioned windows and the two animals that stand on either side of the large porch.

Complex Model

The castle of Azay-le-Rideau is built on an island in the middle of the Indre under the patronage of François I. A subtle alliance of French traditions and innovative decorations from Italy, it is an icon of the new art of building in the Val-de-Loire in the 16th century. Its landscaped park, designed in the second half of the 19th century, offers a true natural setting. In 1905, the State became the owner of Azay-le-Rideau castle. Its successive owners contributed to making it the most harmonious architectural jewel of the Val-de-Loire. From January 2015 to June 2017, the monument benefited from a major restoration program undertaken by the Centre des monuments nationaux.
