A simple model of the church Maria-Schutz in Pasing, Munich consisting only of basic shapes. The images are rendered in autocad and use a custom mono-colour material with slight translucency on the objects to achieve an effect similar to that of subsurface-scattering materials. Sadly this didnt quite work out. The church was build in the early 20th century, and is constructed in a neo gothic style.
This model is a lot more complex and detailed than the first one. It is rendered in Unreal-Engine 5 using the pathtracer. A custom material is aplied to the model with a slightly darker subsurface colour creating the illusion of a model carved out of wax or thin plastic. It shows the Frauenkirche in Dresden, Germany. It's a very controversial building in Germany since it was very recently completely rebuilt with only a few of the original parts remaining. This came after a long discussion about what to do with it after it was destroyed in a bombing attack during the second world war.
