The basilica was designed by some of the greatest artists of the Renaissance, including Michelangelo, who created its iconic dome. Inside, visitors can admire masterpieces like Michelangelo's Pieta and Bernini's Baldachin. St. Peter's Basilica also serves as the Pope's principal church and is the site of many important religious ceremonies. Its vast interior can hold tens of thousands of people, making it one of the largest churches in the world. St. Peter's Basilica has an incredible artistic and historical significance, as well as it is one of the major symbols of faith and culture for us, christians.
