The Basilica of the Sacred Heart, also known as the Basilica of Koekelberg, is one of the largest churches in the world and a striking example of Art Deco architecture. Construction began in 1905, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Belgian independence, at the initiative of King Leopold II. Due to the two World Wars, the building was only completed in 1970.

The Basilica di San Marco (St. Mark’s Basilica) is the most famous church in Venice, Italy, and one of the finest examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture. Originally built in the 9th century to house the relics of St. Mark the Evangelist, the current structure dates mainly from the 11th century. Known for its opulent design, golden mosaics, and rich history, the basilica symbolizes the wealth and power of the Venetian Republic. It is located in Piazza San Marco, the heart of Venice, and remains a key religious and cultural landmark.
